Reduction of Zygomatic Complex Fracture Using Combination of Microplate and Miniplate Osteosynthesis
نویسندگان
چکیده
Zygomaticomaxillary complex (ZMC) fracture is the second most common facial bone fractures after nasal bone and has been extensively described in the literature. Numerous techniques have been described for the reduction of ZMC fracture. This case report presents a 21-year-old man who was involved in a traffic accident and who subsequently presented with a ZMC fracture. The patient was treated through an open reduction and internal fixation procedure using a titanium microplate and miniplate combination.

Transoral approach alone in single miniplate osteosynthesis of angle fracture - our experience
AIM The aim of this study was to determine the outcome of transoral approach alone to treat the mandibular angle fracture using single 2.0 mm miniplate. MATERIALS AND METHODS In this study, 28 patients were included and treated with 2.0 mm single miniplate osteosynthesis at upper border along Champy's line of osteosynthesis using transoral approach alone. RESULTS All the cases were treated ...
متن کاملProspective blind comparative clinical study of two point fixation of zygomatic complex fracture using wire and mini plates
BACKGROUND The zygomatic maxillary complex (ZMC) fractures are one of the most frequent injuries of the facial skeleton due to its position and facial contour. Assaults, road traffic accidents and falls are the principal etiologic factors that may cause fractures of zygomatic bone. The different fixation methods are applied to treat the zygomatic bone fractures, with many more classifications w...

متن کاملMiniplate for Osteosynthesis in a 9-Year-Old with Symphysis Fracture: Clinical Report
Osteosynthesis using minimum material in pediatric mandibular fractures is the key, due to the limited space available in the mandible, especially in the mental foramen and apical region. There is an important role of open reduction and rigid internal fixation in re-establishing facial height, width and projection. During the early years of growth and development, there is a high osteogenic pot...
متن کاملComparison of post operative outcomes in mandibular condylar fractures treated with single versus double non-compression mini plates
The aim of this study was to compare the functions of the condyle and complications after fixation of a subcondylar fracture of the mandible with two noncompression miniplates and a single non-compression miniplate. A total of 24 patients who required open reduction of a subcondylar fracture of mandible were selected for the study. The patients were randomly divided into two groups of 12 each. ...
